ACTS Grants & Scholarship

AIGS diligently seeks many ways to provide grants and bursaries to all international students who are in need of financial aid. AIGS arranges ‘ACTS Great Commission Scholarship’ (AGCS) and also provides all enrolled international students with the ACTS Matching Fund (AMF) which covers most of the study expenses. For receiving both the ACTS Grant as AGCS and ACTS Scholarship as AMF, all enrolled international students MUST submit to the AIGS Office in each semester by March 31 and by September 30 (1) the scholarship application form and (2) the each copy of their current bank account book opened in Korea, saying (a) the first page showing student’s name and account information, and (b) the last page showing student’s account balance. Then this portion of scholarship is fully covered by ACTS that comprises of:

1) Academic Scholarship: The enrolled student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to remain eligible for the academic scholarship.
2) Work and Study Scholarship: The enrolled student is required to apply for a 16-hour Work and Study Scholarship each semester in order to receive it.
3) Church Matching Fund: It is the student’s sole responsibility to secure their own Church Matching Fund. The school does not provide or arrange this funding.
4) Registration Fee: The student is solely responsible for paying the Registration Fee (KRW 300,000) each semester.

AIGS Mission Scholarship Award

Description:

  • AIGS Mission Scholarship Award is the award of 1,000,000 won (1 Million won).
  • This award is to be granted only to one person currently registered in M.Div., or Th.M., or Th.M+Ph.D., or Ph.D. programs.
  • This award is to be held once in a year.
  • The award is granted to a student among international students enrolled in AIGS.
  • The award is provided with the condition that the student visits mission field abroad (including one’s home country) and writes a mission report paper (about 15 pages including photos) about the country’s Christian and missional situations within its cultural-social-political environment, and submits it in both one’s native language and English by an email (PDF file) and a hard copy to the office prior to the beginning week of new semester.

 
Eligibilities:

  • International students who are enrolled in any academic programs and keep minimum 3.3 GPA and above.
  • A student who goes to a mission field abroad or his/her home county.
  • A student who maintains Christian integrity and spiritual practicum.
  • A student who pays the church-matching fund will receive award directly into his/her bank account, if not the money will be transferred to student’s church-matching fund.
 
AIGS Excellence Essay Award

Description:

  • AIGS Excellence Essay Award is the award of 1,000,000 won (1 Million won).
  • This award is to be granted only to one person currently registered in Th.M., or Th.M+Ph.D., or Ph.D. programs.
  • This award is to be held once in a year.
  • Candidate essays submitted are to be evaluated by responsible faculty members and finally authorized by the AIGS Committee.
  • The student who gets this award will have an opportunity to present the essay and/or to be strongly recommended for publication in an academic journal.

 
Eligibilities:

  • AIGS students currently registered in Th.M., or Th.M+Ph.D., or Ph.D. programs.
  • An essay submitted should be highly qualified as an academic paper in relation to the topic informed by the AIGS Office.
  • A student who maintains Christian integrity and spiritual practicum.
  • A student who pays the church-matching fund will receive award directly into his/her bank account, if not the money will be transferred to student’s church matching fund.
