Starting from January 2025, foreign registration cards will be issued with an embedded IC chip.
If your card includes the IC chip, you will be able to download a mobile ID, which can be used as your official identification.
The AIGS office is sharing this information based on the notice posted on Hi Korea.
Please also note that it is still possible to request the existing (non-IC) card format if preferred.
