🚨 Notice on Prohibition of Illegal Employment and Identity Misuse for International Students
Dear International Students,
Recently, the Korean government has strengthened enforcement against illegal employment involving foreign nationals, particularly in delivery services and identity misuse cases. We kindly ask all students to carefully review the following guidelines to avoid any legal violations.
❗ Prohibited Activities
International students are
strictly prohibited from engaging in the following activities:
- Working as a delivery rider (e.g., Baedal Minjok, Yogiyo, Coupang Eats, etc.)
- Working as a courier or parcel delivery worker
- Engaging in delivery-related work through agencies or platforms
These jobs fall under
restricted employment categories and are not permitted under student visa regulations.
❗ Identity Misuse is Illegal
- Using another person’s name (e.g., a Korean national’s identity) to work as a delivery rider is a serious criminal offense
- This constitutes both illegal employment and identity theft
⚠️ Penalties for Violations
If you are found engaging in illegal employment:
- Up to 3 years of imprisonment or a fine of up to 30 million KRW
- Visa cancellation and deportation
- Possible restrictions on future entry into Korea
⚠️ Employer Responsibility
Employers who knowingly hire international students illegally or allow identity misuse are also subject to:
- Criminal penalties and fines
📌 Important Reminder
The university strongly advises all students to comply with Korean immigration laws and employment regulations. Engaging in illegal work may result in serious legal consequences and negatively affect your academic status and future.
If you have any questions regarding permitted employment or visa regulations, please contact the university office.
Thank you for your cooperation.
